Hello, hello! Welcome to Revival! Oh my goodness, it feels so good to have the site up, running and buzzing around. Everything has been changed or revamped in some way – starting with the coding!

I’ve upgraded from all hand-coded PHP, HTML and CSS, with FanUpdate as my blog tool, to WordPress! Yeah baby. I’ve been meaning to learn how to code and build a theme forever, and I finally stuck myself at the computer to do it. It was a lot of hard work, more trial-and-errors with the coding than I can count, but it’s paid off… that’s for sure! I can’t wait to keep working with it so I can make really nice themes for, not only Revival, but for visitors to use!

And yes, this theme I’m using: I built it myself. Yes, I followed a “tutorial” (you can find it here), but unfortunately, some bits of that tutorial didn’t match up. I’ve spent a lot of time tweaking little bits of code to refreshing a page 3 times to having to start over from scratch. One thing I do know is that my theme is not 100% valid yet. I’m working on fixing any problems, but since it’s not being used my others (yet ;)), I think I’m able to slide for a few days. (Let me know if there is any issues that come up as you’re browsing!) I’m pretty sure my browser search history now consists of “wordpress” more than anything, just from having to find out what I was doing wrong and why things were looking the way they were But no worries, because now everything is all pretty and orderly and ready for you!

What I’m really hoping for Revival is this: that I own a portfolio and resource site. I know I’m “just starting out” by dabbling in both, but I really feel, after these nine few years of website designing, these two categories are my strongest points. The portfolio half is good and ready to go, resources… not so much I have tons of resources on my computer, ready for visitors to download and use. Unfortunately, my excuse was always trying to find the time to handle them. Hopefully, now that I’m running on WP, it will be easier, smoother, and faster.

I do realize my resource section is sparse, but I will be adding more items there shortly. If you keep reading, you’ll see I’m headed out of town for a few days. I really wanted to get my website up and viewable before I did that, but wanted at least a little something in the resources. So, at the moment, I have some technology textures offered. With all my resources, you’ll find you can “add them to your cart”, “checkout” and then receive an email that you will download them from. I hope you enjoy!

On a more personal note, I will be going camping in 3 days with my boyfriend, Jake! We’re going to Middle-of-North-Nowhere, Minnesota for our 4 year anniversary (has it really been that long? :P)! I’m really excited to go up there – Jake and I both love the North Shore and the north in general. We’re going to be going camping at a state park, and our campsite is only 1/4 mi away from Lake Superior.
